Selling a home is never just about the property; it's about solving a problem. Frontdoor uses AI to solve those problem.

Overview

When the team reached out, the brand was a mess. Frontdoor, formerly "The F* It Team, Inc.," needed a rebrand to shift from aggressive tactics to empathy. We kept the ‘F’ for our no-nonsense style and introduced “No backdoor deals.” I revamped our look, introduced a new CRM, and created Effie, an AI voice bot, to humanize our communication.

Effie, built with ChatGPT and my wife’s voice, integrated with our dialer and CRM, answering complex real estate questions and speeding up training. Replacing predatory scripts with empathy, we saw a 52% drop in cost-per-contract and sellers saying, "I got a higher offer, but I like you guys more."

Now, as Frontdoor's fractional brand strategist, I continue to guide our brand with empathy and transparency.

My Process

The Problem

Frontdoor’s original name, "The F* It Team, Inc.," was too aggressive for the real estate market. Sellers, already in a vulnerable position, needed empathy and understanding, not a bulldog approach. The brand's harsh tone was driving away potential clients who needed reassurance and transparency.

Discovery Calls

We attended industry seminars, networked with insiders, and listened to over 100 sales calls. This  approach helped us understand the pain points and needs of both sellers and our sales team. We realized that our aggressive scripts were alienating potential clients who valued empathy and transparency over hard-nosed negotiation tactics.

Strategy

Rebranding
We decided to keep the ‘F’ as a nod to our no-nonsense approach but rebranded to "Frontdoor," symbolizing transparency and a welcoming attitude. Our new tagline, "No backdoor deals," emphasized our commitment to honesty and straightforwardness.

Visual Identity and CRM Implementation
Along with the new name, I introduced a fresh visual identity that was clean, approachable, and professional. We revamped the CRM system to better align with our new brand values, ensuring our internal processes reflected our external promises.

Building Effie
Effie was a labor of love. Using my skills in ChatGPT, Python, and JavaScript, I built the prototype and integrated it with Frontdoor’s dialer, Dialpad, and CRM. I recorded my wife’s voice in our closet for a human touch and compiled FAQs from hundreds of hours of real estate videos into a Pinecone vector database, deploying everything on AWS.
